Valencia Hinojosa et al. v. Ecuador

This case is about the investigation of the death of a police officer during a shootout with other police officers. According to some versions of the events, the police officer committed suicide instead of surrendering, but the investigation was partial and did not rule out the possibility that he had actually been executed.
