Martínez Coronado v. Guatemala

This case is about the imposition of death penalty in Guatemala. Alt- hough the American Convention does not prohibit death penalty and Guatemala is not party to the Protocol to the American Convention abolishing death penalty, in this case the Court found the State over- stepped the strict limits the Convention imposes on death penalty.
